The Fort Wayne Community Schools, founded in 1857, has been a vital part of our city for more than 150 years and has a long track record of success. With a staff of 4,000 and 31,000 students, Fort Wayne Community Schools has grown along with our community.

Fort Wayne Community Schools is one of the largest school districts in the state with 51 different schools serving the needs of learners all across the city. Students at Fort Wayne Schools have the opportunity to participate in a number of different special learning activities including NASA Explorer programs, Latin Grammar lessons, Spanish Immersion, Arts, and more.

In addition to these programs, the schools are able to give students the opportunity to participate in advanced academic programs like the International Baccalaureate as well as ROTC and other amazing opportunities. It’s an impressive list, one that isn’t matched by any other school district in the region.

Fort Wayne Community Schools have a 91% graduation rate, and many of our alumni go on to become journalists, teachers, engineers, doctors, carpenters, politicians, artists, lawyers, architects, electricians, professional athletes and much more.

Fort Wayne Community Schools provide diversity – both in the student body and in the programs offered. There is something at FWCS for everyone, including world-class academics, championship-winning athletic teams, successful arts programs and dozens of other clubs and activities.
